Viagra is used to treat erectile dysfunction, more commonly known as impotence, in men.
This is when a man cannot get, or maintain, a hard erect penis suitable for sexual activity.
Viagra is the brand name for a medication called Sildenafil.
Viagra is a product of Pfizer.
Cialis comes in 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg doses.
Unfortunately Viagra is not subsidised under the PBS which means patients pay the full price. Viagra recently came off patent which has seen the price fall to $3-4 per tablet.
Viagra is not suitable for patients who have:
- Also been prescribed nitrates
- Known hypersensitivity to Sildenafil
Like all medications Viagra has side effects in some patients with headache, stomach upset, back pain, muscle ache, nasal congestion, facial flushing and limb pain being the most common.

To get Viagra you will need a prescription from a doctor. You have the option of seeing a doctor face to face, or seeing an online doctor here on GP2U.
In either case your doctor will make an assessment about your suitability for the medication and make sure you understand both the risks and the benefits.
